Alberta Interagency Council on Homelessness
Premier Redford recently announced the appointment of the Alberta Interagency Council (IAC) on Homelessness. The community focused partnership will help guide the next phase of A Plan for Alberta: Ending Homelessness in 10 years. The focus is now shifting to making long-term changes that will prevent homelessness and strategies requiring coordinated action between government and local communities.
During the past four years, the Alberta Secretariat for Action on Homelessness developed and monitored the implementation of the 10-year plan. The Secretariat also provided strategic advice on the 10-year plan to Minister Hancock. To learn more about the Secretariat’s work, read the Three Year Secretariat Report or read statistics on homelessness across Alberta.
